Haunted Mansion (2023) is my first credited Disney big screen feature film, and first project working with Day For Nite. I was responsible for animation, VFX, lighting, camera, and compositing involved in previsualization shot creation. Haunted Mansion was one of the first projects at Day For Nite to utilize the MetaHuman pipeline for character assets. The use of MetaHumans allowed us to animate characters more naturally, they can be designed to proportion close to the actors portraying their characters on set, as well as accurately compose cameras to their figures. In addition, I contributed to postvis animation and VFX on the film including background replacements, wire removals, CG character animation, and elementals.
The Haunted Mansion is my all-time favorite attraction at Disneyland. It was a team effort to represent the ride with as many accuracies to the original story and design as possible. We put a lot of love into it, and as a fan and an artist, I’m incredibly honored to have worked on this film.
